No current updates on games/scores…..

REMINDER…there is a MANDATORY parent meeting on Thursday, October 9th at 6:30 at Upper during practice.  I will be addressing the parents on a few “Xtreme” things, Coach Griffin has a few things and your team managers will have a few things to say…the rest will be left open for open forum.  See you there!!

Coach Griffin has something special and very important for the girls on
Thursday.  She would like us to bring our girls to the Ozark High School Boys
Soccer game on Thursday the 25th.  At this game coach will be showing and
discussing with the girls about skills, technique, and game play.  The game
starts at 5:00 but we need to meet between 4:30 pm - 4:45 pm at the front gate
of the new High School Stadium.
We also have the opportunity to scrimmage the middle school boys on thursday’s
(not this coming Thurs, since we will be at the game!) so please make sure your
daughter has her cleats and shin guards and her ball. (This shouldn’t be anything new!)
The girls should be ready to be picked up between 7:15 pm and
7:30 pm, it might run a little over.  It is very important that your daughter
makes it to this practice.  If anyone is interested in sharing rides, please let the team
managers know…or if you know one of the girls is a neighbor.  Let’s make life easier
on all of us!!
We also want to let you all know that Team Pictures will be this Saturday @
1:00pm.  Our game is at 2:30pm.  Tanya will be passing out the order forms at
practice tonight.

A Note from Coach Griffin……

Hey Moms and Dads, I just wanted to write a short note to all of you now that we
are 2 games in. Over all I am very happy with this team. Both teams that we have
already played and the team we will play next week have been together for at
least a year. We have only been together for roughly 12 practices and 2 games.
It is going to take time for our girls to gel as a team and get the hang of
competitive 11 vs. 11 soccer. Both games we came out great in the second half.
That shows that we can keep up with the girls in this league. It is important
that we keep positive and help the girls to remain positive. Today was a tough
loss, but we learned from it. I thank you all for your support of these girls,
they have great potential and I think we will start to really see it shine in
the near future. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions and/or

Two things….#1  All practices have been moved to UPPER ELEMENTARY to avoid confusion.  Some practices were at Upper and some at the High School.  Now, you only have to take you daughter to one place….UPPER. #2  For present and future information…..if the weather looks “iffy” on Saturday’s, you should call Lake Country at 862-3211 and listen to the “weather hotline” or check www.lakecountrysoccer.org for any game cancelations.  The managers would have a difficult time calling every single person….so checking their web site before you leave might a terrific idea!!  Hopefully we’ll get all our games in this weekend!!  If the spirit wear is complete, I will bring it (or give to manager) to be handed out on Saturday.  Have a great weekend!!

CONGRATULATIONS to the girls for putting up an EXCELLENT fight on Saturday.  For their first game as a team, that is an AWESOME way to start…..Great job Girls and Coach Griffin.  Also a huge thank you to Teresa and Tanya for taking their manager positions so seriously.  You have excellent leadership on your team, parents….Make sure you are thanking them for the time they are investing in making the “behind the scenes” run smoothly!!  Practice on Tuesday will be at UPPER ELEMENTARY.  The High School Soccer Field will be occupied by football.  I will try to provide a list of dates when practice will move to upper so you can plan ahead.  It’s all of the High School’s home games….(Tues or Thurs).  Again, great job XTREME!!!  Keep up the great work!

Meet at 4:45 at the Lake Country indoor facility (just north of the playing fields) to pick up uniforms and sign player cards.  Please wear black or dark shorts as our uniform shorts are not in yet.  Good luck and see you Saturday!!

For now we are still planning on having practice….only it will be at UPPER ELEMENTARY.  Please make sure the girls dress appropriately…it is a bit chilly out today.

Shorts are not going to be in for Saturday’s game….SORRY!!  I just got the phone call!!  I will have uniform tops for the girls printed and ready by tomorrow….I will give them to Teresa Witt and she will make sure you have them for the game…you can either call her and go pick them up or wait until Saturday before the game.  Teresa Witt will also take a tally tonight to see how many girls have black short vs white shorts.  No Cheer shorts, please!!  Let’s stick to soccer shorts.  If we’re mis-matched for the first game, then so be it….we will have them for next week.  If you have not paid me yet (I only got about 1/2 of the money Tues) I need that ASAP.  You can give a check to either manager….make checks out to Missy Davidson for $47.00.

Since this is our first weekend for games there are a few things you should be aware of.  #1…all girls must be at the field ready to go 1/2 hour before the start of their game. #2…parents will sit on opposite side of teams (pretty standard) #3…please remember these girls are just forming as a team. Please keep them encouraged and support the coaches decisions.  Barking out instructions from the sidelines only confuses the girls.  Coach Griffin will do the coaching…you all do the cheering!! #4…at no time should you yell at any of the referee’s.  They are often times High school kids and are still learning.  Please invision it being your child and someone else yelling at them…mistake or not! #5…You are encouraged to do some type of congratulatory “run thru” after the game(ask one of the returning players’ moms)…just make sure if you are going to do it, that you don’t just do it when the WIN….It certainly isn’t necessary…but it’s fun if you remember.!! Last please make sure you bring all your spirit wear order forms/$ to the game on Saturday or to practice tonight.  If you want to wear them soon….I need to get everything ordered!!

I just got word that the football team will be using the soccer field on Tues, Aug 26th since the boys soccer team will be having their “REDNECK” scrimmage on the turf Tues night.  Practice for Tues only will be moved to upper elementary.  Same time!!  =0)

I have wonderful reports about all the girls attending practices regularly and in a timely fashion (most of them!) Practice will be Tues and Thurs 5:30-7:00 as usual. Uniforms have been ordered. There is a little hitch with the shorts. We are looking into getting alternate shorts as the shorts we normally order won’t be in until OCTOBER !!! I will let you know how much everything is going to be as soon as I hear!! We will need to get number preferences from the girls. We do not give out #1 as a rule….and the returning girls all have numbers we will have to make sure no one picks. Doing GREAT parents/players. This team has some true dedication. WONDERFUL NEWS!!!

I am still missing one payment…..I will get with that person. For those of you who paid over the $100 fee, I will get you your refunds this week. I have a log of what everyone paid and how much you will get back. IF I happen to make a mistake (no uncommon in my world!), just let me know and we can figure it all out!! Hope to see you Tues. If you would like to stay and watch the High School boys scrimmage, they are having their annual “REDNECK SCRIMMAGE” at 7:00 on the turf Tues night!!!

For any dual rostered players (Hannah, Rachel, Kyrsten). This is your primary team. You are expected at all of these practices & ONE U14 practice (prefer WED). You do not need additional uniforms….we just want you to play on both teams!!

U13 practice may get cut short on Tues, Aug 19th 26th (about 15 minutes) due to the High School boys playing their “Redneck” game at 7:00pm. If for some reason they have to play on the grass field, it may get cut even shorter. So this week, Tues and Thurs regular times….5:30-7:00 at Ozark h.s.

We have most of the girls’ uniform sizes. I will get these ordered ASAP, so that they are here in time for the first game. We have an official roster of 16 girls. We will not be taking any more girls on the team. We want the girls to get PLENTY of playing time on the field….and if we take any more, play time will be compromised. IF you have overpaid…you will get a cash refund. I don’t want to apply it towards the uniform because I think it will be more confusing in the long run. This team has the potential to do exceptionally well…..with Coach Griffin at the helm and your daughters enthusiasm, we are set up for success. It will take some time to get to know one another’s style of play….but I’m excited to see them grow, learn and be successful!! I still haven’t had a hard/firm commitment for a manager. I have had someone approach me about fund raising….I’m sure you all will talk about that at practice. ONE LAST THING…..there will be NO PRACTICE THIS THURSDAY since it is the first day of school. The U13 team has set practices on Tues and Thurs from 5:30-7:00. If you have not yet paid your Fall Fee’s you need to bring them to practice on Thurs. With 15 players rostered, the cost is $105. If you paid $112, I will return $7 to you. Uniforms will be placed at Thursday’s practice. We will try to bring a few sample uniforms for the girls to try on. I will have a price on uniforms at that time. These will not have to be paid for unitl they come in, although we will begin collecting for them as soon as orders are placed. I still need someone to step up to act as team manager. Call or e-mail me if you are slightly interested. It isn’t a difficult job at all…just a matter of communicating to parents and editing web site information. See you Thurs. My daughter’s team will also be practicing, so I will be there to collect the remaining fee’s and help with uniforms. See you then!! Missy

Welcome Xtreme U13 team. We are very pleased to announce the addition of a tremendous coach to our Xtreme family. Coach Kaysie Griffin. Kaysie was a four year starter for Coach Davidson at Kickapoo. She went on to play at Missouri Southern State University. She made the move to Ozark to become Coach Tom Davidson assistant girls’ coach. We have put together a brand new U13/U12 team. Coach Griffin is tremendously excited to get the girls going and bring them together as a team.
