Xtreme Soccer Club

All girls ages U8 - U15 are invited to attend Xtreme’s soccer OPEN PLAY Wed July 16 & Wed July 23 from 7:00-8:30pm at the Ozark High School Soccer Fields. This will be a time to evaluate existing teams as well as form new teams. U8 girls are typically entering the 2nd grade, but it is possible for 1st grade girls to play U8 as well. We have some openings on various age groups. Anyone interested in signing up for the Summer Sizzler 3v3 soccer tournament hosted by Tom Davidson and the Ozark Soccer Teams should visit their web site www.ozarktigersoccer.com or e-mail SUMMERSIZZLER2008@YAHOO.COM for more information.  A portion of the proceeds will be given to the Matthew P. Pete and his Dragons came home in 2nd place from the Rolla 3 v 3 tournament this past Saturday. Pete (Coach Tom) Morgan, Lexi, Hayley, Payton and Marie racked up 20 goals while their opponents were only able to squeak 9 goals by. Morgan was taken out in the 2nd game….but Mikaela had come along to watch, and was able to step in and finish the tournament in Morgan’s place…talk about right time, right place!! Great job girls. They had a BLAST and it was sure fun to watch!! Also, Pete (Coach Tom) played on a team with the Rolla’s H.S. coach (also a 500 victory coach) his wife, the UMR coach and won first place in the “Old People” division!! Great job to him as well!!

We have the dates set….Aug 3-6. What an awesome time the girls will have. It will take everyone to pull this one off!!  You MUST send in a $50 deposit to Kristi Stagner (her address is on the form). This is currently ONLY open to the older team, but once we know how many girls will be going from our U15/14 we will know how many of the U13 girls we can open it up to as well. We have lots of coaches on board already for this…so make sure you reserve your daughters spot ASAP!! See you next week (some at Tom’s camp and others for Open Play)…..=0)

Open play is open to all U14/U15 and Older girls. It will be at Ozark H.S. grass field from 7:00-8:30. Feel free to bring a friend. All Xtreme players are highly encouraged to attend these open plays. Here are the dates:

Thanks for all of you who have confirmed your return to the team. We have one girl leaving to join another team (we hope she finds what she is looking for!) and Sam is moving back to California =0( We hope Sam will return to the area some day!!

Open Play will be an opportunity for any girls incoming 7th grade and up to come and scrimmage. All Xtreme Girls are HIGHLY encouraged (not necessarily REQUIRED….but you know what I’m getting at!) to attend each of these open plays. Any other girls who are interested in potentially joining a team OR just want to come out and get some touches on the ball are welcome to come out. They will be at the Ozark High School (grass) fields every other Monday through the end of July. Invite friends so that we can have a great turnout and get a good scrimmage in!!

We are in the midst of organizing our camp for the summer. More details will be available soon. This will be an awesome time for the girls…please put Aug 3-6 (Sun-Wed) on your calendar…this will be a residential camp for Xtreme U14/U15 players, but a day camp for younger players.

Here is the schedule for OPEN PLAY: MONDAY’S: June 2, 16, 30 from 7:00-8:30. July 14 is our Pizza Inn Fund Raiser….so July 28 will be the last open play. Camp will be the Sunday after that, then practice for the Fall will begin after camp. We do have a roster of 14 girls FOR SURE returning…both U14 and U15. We will also have enough girls to play U14 in the Spring when our U15 girls play H. S. ball. If you have not responded back to me to reserve your spot on the team, you have until June 1st. At that point, if we feel like we need additional players, we will fill those spots. Again, this is not to punish anyone for not responding to us, but rather to be respectful to our current players.

Anyone who has not e-mailed me to confirm their daughters spot on the Xtreme U14 (U15 this Fall) team need do so by June 1st.  I have heard back from everyone but about 3-4 girls…..some I’m sure just forgot!!  Those of you who were interested in the 3v3, I will contact you personally about the tournament!  Have a great week!!

The end of yet another season is upon us.  We had a really good year.  Several new face and many familiar faces.  We’ve done a ton of growing over the past 9 months.  It’s been a great experience to watch the girls grow as a team, and odd to watch them play against each other during middle school….but still fun to see so many familiar faces!!

First we want to thank Steve for all his countless hours of dedicated to your daughter.  He coaches because he loves the game and the competition.  He has always donated his time to our team and has asked nothing in return but dedication and loyalty to our team!  Our girls have grown and progressed under his guidance, and we thank him for that!!

Next, we want to thank Melissa for stepping in this Spring to add a new perspective to coaching.  The girls really looked up to Melissa as a role model…and a fine one she is!!  She has added a “girl” flare to the team that has been absent with all our guy coaches.  It’s been a pleasure to have you on board, Melissa,  and we wish you nothing but success in the future!!

We will be looking towards the Fall now.  We will have an opportunity for the girls to do several things this summer.  Fund Raisers, camps, team building, open play….We will be in touch soon about the opportunities that we will be offering.  Coaching is something we have been taking into consideration.  Steve truly enjoys his role on the sidelines, but we also feel like having a female coach is important for the girls as well.  We have two potential coaches to take Melissa’s place.  If we get either one of them….we will have exceptional coaching for our girls.  Both are/were/are tremendous soccer players themselves….playing in college, All-American/All-State status girls.  We will let everyone know who we will have to co-coach with Steve as soon as we can get some confirmation!!

Again, Thank you coach Steve and Coach Melissa….and most of all JOB WELL DONE GIRLS!!

Our Xtreme Family is one of a kind….

We have yet another double header this coming weekend….and a chance at revenge.  We will play Total @ 8:30 and the Lakers at 2:30 (both on field 8).  Everyone is then invited to gather at Cici’s Pizza on W. Battlefield after the 2:30 game for a “celebratory” dinner.  Kristi will have information on upcoming Fund Raising opportunities.  If you can’t make it, please make sure you see Kristi prior to leaving the 2:30 game to return your daughters warm ups and to get a flier about the fund raisers she has planned.  We will also have some information regarding summer camps, open play, etc…  If for some reason you still owe for any league fee’s or uniform costs, you will need to have those paid to Linda by Saturday.  See you Saturday!!

We play at 8:30 against Total on field MT7 AND 2:30 against the Lakers on field LCS 8. Get a good nights rest….early games don’t always agree with us!! Let’s take it to them. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to game time.

We are very pleased to see Melissa back up and “limping” We continue to wish her a speedy recovery!!

PS….please check your REVISED schedule (still not posted on Lake Country’s web site). We DO HAVE TWO GAMES on Saturday, May 10th @ 8:30 and 2:30 both on LCS 8. This will be against Total and the Lakers. These are our last games of the season, although we will continue to practice for the Toyota Cup.

There is a H. S. game Thursday, so we will be practicing at Upper at normal time.  Please check back before leaving for practice for any weather related changes.

SSC came out for revenge at Saturday’s game…and got it.  I don’t remember the last time SSC 94/95 has beat Xtreme, so this had to be a huge victory for them.  We will continue with practice on Thursday and will have a double header on Saturday @ 8:30 and 2:30.

I spoke with Melissa post op.  She was feeling very ill  and was having a tough time keeping anything  down, therefore unable to take her pain medication.  The operation was a success and she and her trainer hope to see things heal quickly.  We all wish Melissa a speedy recovery!!

Congratulations to the Xtreme U14 girls for another VICTORY against SSC. We will have practice this Thursday at Ozark High School from 5:00-6:30 and a double header on Saturday game at 8:30am Saturday A.M.. See you then, and congrats again to the girls VICTORY!!!!

I didn’t know if Coach Hogan told the girls last night or not, but she will be having knee surgery next Thursday. They think it’s meniscus / cartilage damage, so it should be a fairly non-invasive surgery (we hope!). Anyway, keep her in your thoughts next week. She will not be at practice next Thurs, but says she will do everything she can to be at Saturday’s (the 26th) game.

REMEMBER, game time is 2:30 this Saturday. If you try to call me on my cell, I may not answer. Morgan and I will be in K.C. for volleyball Regionals. Good luck and kick some SSC butt!!

Practice tonight will be from 6:00-7:30 at Ozark High School Soccer Fields. Also, the game for this weekend is changed from it’s original time. Game time is 2:30 against SSC on field 8. Please make sure you have made the changes in your datebook. See you tonight!! (I can not get the correct schedule to post, so if you need one re-sent to you, please e-mail me. I sent it out on 4-8-2008 under the subject New schedule for 13-14 girls. ) It was forwarded on by me directly from Lake Country…..the form is sent as an attachment. =0)

Congratulations to the U14 girls for another fine game.  The Lady Hawks were plucked out of their flight when they met up with the girls from Xtreme.  Final score was 4-2.  From what I hear, goals were from Mikaela, Brittany, Emily & Morgan.  Great Job GIRLS!!!  We are proud of you!  See you at practice on Thursday.  We will assume it’s outdoors (Tom mentioned maybe at the Ozark High School fields) this week…but check back Thurs to make sure!!  Have a great week!!!

U14 practice will be at the Ozark Junior High today from 5:00-6:30 in the EAST GYM. (you may want to park on the East side of the gym as it is a looooooong walk from the West doors to the East gym!!). Please make sure your girls wear indoor shoes!! See you then!  Ozark Jr. High is on Hwy 14 directly across the street from Sonic.  Go PAST Sonic and take last entrance into Jr. High before the stop light.  Take a right into parking lot…enter door on east side of building.

Congratulations to the U14 team on a well played weekend. Although we did not make it into the final round, the girls played great. So much heart, soul and sweat went into their games and I’m sure we surprised several teams on our determination and fight!! We had a great time as usual off the field as well. Traveling is always a very bonding experience!! We are looking for tremendous things from these girls in the upcoming league season. Started league off with a win and expecting many more!!

Thank you VERY MUCH to Coach Melissa for making her first tournament debut with the girls. She is bringing a great new perspective to the sidelines for the girls and they all are exceptionally receptive to her ideas. We appreciate all the time and energy she puts into our girls’ success. And as always, thank you to Coach Steve for your dedication to the team….it’s amazing how our girls have evolved!!

Thursday practice is 5:00-6:30 at Ozark Upper. Everyone is expected to be there every week in preparation for the weekend league games. (coaches are aware of Payton’s situation) Next weekends game is at 11:30am vs. the Lady Hawks. Field is MT 7…not sure where that is on their map…there is a GT7 which is on the south fields. We’ll make sure everyone knows by Saturday!!
