This weekend was a match up between the Lady Hawks and The Xtreme.  The Lady Hawks did get the better of us the first half with the wind at their backs….but the second 1/2 was dominated by the Xtreme…just were not able to put enough balls over the goal line.  We did squeak one goal past them with a pinball like approach.  Kirkpatrick served the ball from the left, Wagner rebounded the ball directly into the path of Gies, where Gies finished the play with a header into the net…Nice work ladies!!  The ending score was 1-4….but one of their 4 was an own goal, so I’d like to think of it at 1-3!  We’ll have revenge on them later in the season!!

OOOPS!!  Steve caught me.  Practice is on Wed (5:00-6:30) and Thurs 5:30-7:00.  Thurs will be at Upper while Wed is still at the High school.  Thurs, we may have the option to scrimmage the middle school boys if Coach Jen and Steve are in favor.  They practice there on Thursdays……See you tomorrow!!!

U14 will have practice as usual on Tues, but will take the day off on Wed due to not having a game this weekend.  I pushed for the day off….Jen was raring and ready to go…but I know as parents, it’s nice to have a day off to stay home as a family….enjoy your Wed evening….see you tonight!!

Excellent job ladies on a well played game on Saturday.  Xtreme girls 5, Cyclones Goose Egg!!  I don’t know if Coach Jen and Coach Steve could have come up with any more entertaining lineups than they did in order to NOT run up the score.  I especially loved seeing Morgan, Payton and Haylee as sweepers!!I know Brit-Brit loved getting back up into the midfield, too!!

We do NOT have any games this coming weekend.  I have not heard about our rescheduled game with TOTAL.  If we would rather play a SUNDAY, please give me feedback.  That was originally an option for us….it may be something we look into.  It would need to be worked around Jen’s Drury schedule.   She is in town the 28th.  Please look at your schedule and see if this Sunday would work for you.  I would rather us tell Lake Country when a good time for us would be as opposed to them telling us when we are going to play….they may pick a time that 1/2 our girls could not make.  I’m not willing to give them that amount of control when they are the one’s who canceled on us!!  Please e-mail me and let me know!!

I assume we are going to practice both days this week…..unless the coaches think a day off might do the girls good.  If that’s the case, I will be sure to post that on the web site…otherwise, practice as usual!!

Total has requested Lake Country to reschedule our 1:00 game on Saturday….So, we will only have a 4:00 game this saturday against the Cyclones Green.  The game will be rescheduled for another Saturday in the season…I will let you know when that is as soon as I know.

The girls started off their season with a VICTORY….if you erase the last 6 minutes of the game, anyway.  Unfortunatley, we can’t take back that last 6 minutes…so it ended in a tie…1-1.  Still, the girls played well, and our new additons to the team will continue to feel more and more comfortable.  Practice on Tues will be at Ozark Upper Elementary. Wed’s practice will be back at the High School.  Upper Elementary is on NN…which is the old highway that runs north and south between Lambert’s and the High School.  If you need directions, e-mail me!!  See you Wednesday!!

We have gym space for practice tonight.  I realize it’s not ideal….but we do have a game this weekend to prepare for.  We especially need the dual roster players to be there so Jen and Steve know who plays where etc….

We will practice in the Ozark Jr. High EAST Gym.  The Jr. High is on Hwy 14….so instead of turning to go to the High school soccer field, you will go straight.  You will pass in front of the Jr. High.  Take the East entrance into East Parking Lot.  I will try to get there early so you can see where my van is parked.  Practice is 5:00-6:30 tonight….unless they feel like there are last minute things to go over…and might be a little later.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR GIRLS DO NOT WEAR THEIR CLEATS TONIGHT…they will not be able to wear them in the gym.

Go to www.lakecountrysoccer.org click on leagues, then Youth Outdoor, Fall League….find your age group (U14 girls are U14 BLUE and U13 girls are U14 RED) U10 girls are in U10 BLUE. Please write these dates down ASAP…but do so in pencil as things change often with lake country!!

Thanks to all those who were able to make it to our kick off picnic today. We had tons of food and thanks to Emily Cotter….lots of baby holding (yes, I cried when I held him…..one more, Tom, one more!!) All us mama’s were in awe of the handsome little guy while all the men ran for their lives!! We hope everyone feels welcome at our home any time!! Maybe next year, we’ll have a pool!!
